Section 26
<br> who may be removed from office
If the Vice-Chancellor, Principal or Registrar does not fulfill his official duties or does not behave in accordance with the position or if one-fourth of the members present in the Assembly submit a written application to the Chancellor that he has not fulfilled his duties honestly, then the Chancellor, under the chairmanship of one of the members of the Assembly, and one other member and Health and Population A three-member investigation committee will be formed with the secretary of the ministry.
(2) If the inquiry committee under sub-section (1) recommends that the Vice-Chancellor, Head of Education or Registrar has not fulfilled his official responsibilities, has not worked honestly or has not performed his duties, and if the matter is passed by the meeting of the Assembly, the Chancellor shall remove such Vice-Chancellor, Head of Education or Registrar from his post.< br> (3) After the inquiry committee is constituted as per sub-section (1), such office bearer shall be automatically suspended from his post until the decision is taken by the assembly as per sub-section (2).
(4) Except for the Vice-Chancellor, the Principal or the Registrar, the provisions relating to the removal of other officers of the institution shall be as prescribed.
(5) According to sub-section (2), before recommending the removal of the officer of the establishment from the position, the inquiry committee shall give him an opportunity to present the clarification of the allegations against him.
